Venetian Wood Blinds
Advantages of Venetian Wood Blinds
Blinds are not only functional as they help block or filter the light but they also add a sense of drama and style in any room. Venetian wood blinds have always been a hit in our home, it’s been my favorite for as long as I can remember. If you’re not good with mixing and matching furniture pieces and accessories in your home, these blinds are your best bet since they can go with just about any shade. They never look awkward. Aside from that, you’ll never run out of choices. There are a variety of colors, styles, designs and finishes to choose from.
While a lot of people prefer plastic blinds over Venetian wood blinds because of the cost, the latter provide several advantages over its counterparts.
1.) When it comes to adding texture to a room, wood blinds outstrip even the most expensive plastic blinds. You can apply a natural stain to the surface of the blinds to help accent the natural grain of the wood. Even if the blinds are painted, the blinds’ added thickness is expected to work well with everything including cornice boards and gathered panels.
2.) Another advantage of Venetian wood blinds that deserves recognition is its versatility. You can choose among the different sizes of the slats. If you’re going for a casual place, you can opt for bamboo blinds but if you want to achieve a more formal and sophisticated look then go for French blinds. The wide range of designs will let you work in a multiplicity of window fashions or window shades.
3.) Venetian wood blinds provide more privacy then any other option. While plastic blinds block and filter the light from the outdoors, some are too thin that it’s still possible to recognize outlines of people or furnishings. With wood blinds, the view is complete wiped out making you enjoy complete visual privacy.
4.) It’s easier to clean Venetian wood blinds than it is to clean the plastic one. With plastic, you have to take them down for cleaning but with wood blinds, you can just wipe the slats with a damp cloth.
5.) Wood blinds tend to last a number of years even with minimum care. If you want to change the look so it can fit into your new scheme, you can just restain or paint the blinds.
